Twenty-two years and one day ago today, New York suffered the worst terrorist attack in the history of the United States. In the time since, our nation's relationship with the disaster has evolved. Survivors have learned new ways to cope, and the loved ones of victims have found new ways to grieve.
In those years, an entire new generation has come of age, with their own second hand impressions of the event. Unfortunately, to many of them, it is little more than a pillar of edgy meme culture.
